Joe is based in Crab Orchard. He works with businesses across a 50-mile radius of Lancaster, bringing the pictures, the code, and the ongoing work together.

Joe’s commercial work brings the camera into the day-to-day life of a business. The food photographs here show that work up close: the burger, the sandwich, the meal someone is about to order.
At Old Time Burger and Harv’s Butcher Shop, Joe handles marketing and social media. He built and photographed the Old Time Burger website, manages its hosting, and keeps it running. His new website for Harv’s is currently a demo in development. The photographs, the messaging, and the technical work all come through the same hands. He is the department.

From a crab boat
to a camera and a computer.
Joe began his working life on the deck of a crab boat. Water, weather, navigation, and keeping machines alive were daily realities. That history still runs through his work. Light and movement were things he had to pay attention to long before they became material for photographs.
Through Red Glove Productions, he works in fine-art and commercial photography, astrophotography, and multimedia design. His practice moves between making pictures, building systems, producing visual work, managing marketing, and building and hosting websites. He is interested in what happens when technical knowledge and instinct have to work together.

ONGOING PROJECT
I AM A COMPUTER GOD
“I am a computer god” is the arrogant thought this project puts on trial. Joe is building an audiovisual simulation through RealMathUniverse and the Marine Replay Engine, using recorded routes, depth data, and marine instrument traces as the material.
The work asks what the evidence of a life at sea becomes when it passes through code, physics, modular synthesis, and memory. The ambition is large. The equations, the documentation, the failures, and what he can actually build have to answer for it.
