NOTES FROM THE WORK / CENTRAL KENTUCKY

Photographing and building Old Time Burger’s website

Joe built the site. He shot the photographs. He made the menus and connected the ordering.

Old Time Burger is a Lancaster restaurant and a direct example of Joe’s work across photography, design, programming, and marketing. He built the entire website and photographed the food and kitchen work shown throughout it. He also built the menus and online ordering system and connected the ordering flow through Clover.

The photograph is part of the website.

The home page opens with the local beef burger, fries, and a milkshake. The image gives the page something concrete to say before a customer reads the rest. Further down, the site shows burgers, sandwiches, and work in the kitchen.

Because Joe made both the pictures and the website, the photographs are part of the design from the start. The job is to show the food clearly and give it room to work on the page. These are the business’s own pictures, tied to the meal someone is deciding to order.

The menu needs a clear route.

A customer may arrive ready to order or may still be deciding what sounds good. The site gives them menu links from the main navigation, the opening section, and the food sections. Burgers, sides, and shakes have their own routes into the menu.

Joe’s delivered work includes the menus and ordering system, with connections through Clover. The ordering flow belongs in the same conversation as the design: what does a customer need to see, and where do they go next?

The practical details stay close.

The website includes the Lancaster address, telephone number, opening hours, directions, and pickup information. Those details have to stay useful on a phone as well as on a larger screen. A good food photograph does not replace a working menu link or the right opening time.

There is still work after launch.

Joe is Old Time Burger’s Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, and Webmaster. His responsibilities include hosting and ongoing website management alongside the pictures, programming, marketing, and social media.

The work shown here establishes what he delivered. It does not establish a sales increase or a conversion lift; those need dated business records. As that evidence becomes available, it can be added to the case study with the period and source attached.

One person. The whole job.

This project shows the Red Glove Productions approach in practice. The website, images, menu, ordering connections, and ongoing responsibility come through the same hands. For another business, the scope may be smaller or different. The starting point stays the same: work out what the site needs to do, then build around it.
